John F. McDermott Sr., age 89, died Saturday, November 24, 2012. He was born on July 26, 1923 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to John J. and Nina (nee Richardson) McDermott. A World War II Veteran, he served from 1943-1945 as a parachute rigger/repairman. Later he worked as a budget analyst for the Department of Defense (TACOM).
